Senior Associate Basim Shamsuddin is an accomplished architect with an interest in computational design and an advocate for holistic approaches to sustainability. Born in Saudi Arabia and raised in the United Kingdom, he has over 17 years of professional experience in the UK, UAE, and USA where he has lived since 2016. Project experience types include multi-family residential, arts and cultural, higher education, commercial, office, science and technology, and health care projects and he is a contributing writer to books on trans-disciplinary design. His interest is in lowering the embodied carbon of buildings and construction detailing with a focus on thermal, air and weather barrier continuity, and overall building performance. When not in the studio, he can be found tending his garden, supporting Tottenham Hotspur, or listening to music ranging from classical and jazz to alternative and metal.
